Job summary

Kent is expanding its offshore capabilities and is inviting Expression of Interest from experienced Mechanical Technicians for core crew positions based offshore in the North Sea and beyond. We seek candidates with L3 Mechanical qualifications, offshore experience, and current safety certifications.

You will read engineering drawings, perform maintenance, and support safe operations in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

  • Offshore mechanical technician experience is a must.
  • Current safety certifications (BOSIET/MIST) are required.
  • Right to work in the UK is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, test and diagnose mechanical systems offshore.
  • Follow safety rules, procedures and reporting lines.
  • Read engineering drawings and manuals and follow work instructions.
  • Select tools and follow training and quality control procedures.
  • Care for tools and equipment and maintain security.
  • Identify defects and anomalies and take corrective action.
  • Handle digital information and communicate effectively.

Job Description

About the job:

Kent is thrilled to announce that we are expanding our offshore capabilities and enhancing our service offerings. In line with this growth, we are welcoming Expression of Interest from experienced and competent Mechanical Technicians for core crew positions based offshore in the North Sea and further afield.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Have the required competencies to assemble, position and install, carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on, test and diagnose faults in, repair, remove and replace, and disassemble mechanical equipment and systems in engineering construction plant.
  • Understand the relevant legislative, regulatory and local requirements or procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities with regards to reporting lines and procedures.
  • Understand the preparation and reinstatement requirements in respect of the work area, materials and equipment, and the possible consequences of incorrect actions in these areas.
  • Be able to read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions and relevant plans and schedules.
  • Understand which tools and equipment to use, and when, and will follow relevant training, methods and techniques and quality control and safety procedures for their use.
  • Understand their responsibilities for ensuring the care and security of tools and equipment used.
  • Understand the types of defects and testing anomalies that can occur, how to identify them, and what action to take.
  • Be able to handle a range of digital information, technology and equipment to support work related tasks and to communicate information.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Yourknowledge/skills,education,andexperience:

  • Relevant Mechanical qualifications: L3 VQ in Oil and Gas Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical); L3 Diploma or L3 Apprenticeships(city and guilds)
  • Proven experience working offshore as a MechanicalTechnician
  • Valid BOSIET/MIST
  • Right to work in the UK

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

  • Work within an overall risk control strategy which has been developed by safety specialists and includes detailed criteria foridentifyingrisks, together with clearly defined procedures for action which must be followed.

  • Take responsibility foridentifyingand reporting instances where procedures or work instructions cannot be met or where a variation in them isrequired.
  • Maintain compliance with legislative requirements and company policies,proceduresand standards.
  • Support innovation and development for improvements.
