Job summary

Fareham Borough Council is recruiting Ride-on Mower Drivers to maintain parks and open spaces across the Borough of Fareham. You will follow a fixed route to cut grass, clear leaves, inspect sites, and assist with general grounds maintenance.

Full UK driving licence required; full training on Ride-on Mower will be provided. A mature attitude with the ability to work without close supervision and in a team is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence.

• Able to get on well with the team and work in a steady, methodical way.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grass in parks, road verges and play areas along a set route.
• Clear leaf-fall from open spaces.
• Inspect sites and report problems to supervisor.
• Sweep, collect and remove litter and animal waste.
• Use a smartphone to complete simple electronic records and inspections.
• Assist with gardening tasks: pruning, weeding, shrubs and hedges.

About The Role

We’re looking for Ride-on Mower Drivers to help maintain and improve parks and open spaces within the Borough of Fareham.

As part of a team you will:

• Maintain grass in ourparks, along road verges and play areasfollowing a set route
• Clearleaf-fall from open space areas
• Inspect sites and let your supervisor know of any problems you spot
• Sweep, collect and remove litter, rubbish and animal waste
• Use a smartphone to complete simple electronic records, inspections and work-related information
• Assist with a range of gardening and grounds maintenance duties, including pruning, weeding and general upkeep of shrubs and hedges.

The working hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm on Fridays.

About You

You will need to have a full, validUKdriving licence.

Full training for the Ride on Mower will be provided to the successful applicants.

You will have a mature attitude and able to work without close supervisionand communicate with our customers in a professional way.

It's important that you have the ability to get on well with your teamand have a steady and methodical approach to work.
