Job summary

Rowden is seeking an RF Test Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bristol. You will develop and run test strategies to validate RF system performance, working hands-on in the lab with RF hardware and automated test setups.

The role requires Python scripting for automation, experience with RF lab equipment, and collaboration across RF, hardware, software and QA to ensure product releases meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience working hands-on with RF systems in a test, validation, or characterisation role.
• Practical experience using RF lab equipment such as spectrum analysers and vector network analysers.
• Experience writing code for test automation and equipment control, typically in Python.
• Strong understanding of RF performance metrics including noise figure, gain, bandwidth.
• Ability to design and implement repeatable test approaches and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run test strategies to validate RF system performance across the signal chain.
• Set up and run RF tests using lab equipment (spectrum analysers, VNAs, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
• Write Python scripts to automate tests and make results repeatable.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, software, and QA engineers to meet performance requirements.
• Produce test documentation including plans, procedures, and results reports.
