Job summary

Rowden Technologies Ltd. in Bristol is expanding its RF test and evaluation capability to ensure RF and mixed‑signal hardware platforms meet performance requirements across products and research projects.

As an RF Test Engineer, you will develop test strategies, run lab tests with spectrum analysers, VNAs, signal generators and oscilloscopes, and write Python scripts to automate tests, supporting hardware bring‑up and product validation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with RF systems in test, validation or characterisation.
• Proficiency with RF lab equipment such as spectrum analysers, VNAs, signal generators and oscilloscopes.
• Experience coding for test automation (Python or similar).
• Strong understanding of RF metrics including noise figure, gain, dynamic range and bandwidth.

Responsibilities

• Develop test approaches to validate RF system performance across the signal chain.
• Set up and run RF tests using lab equipment such as spectrum analysers, VNAs, signal generators and oscilloscopes.
• Write scripts (typically Python) to automate tests, control lab equipment, and ensure repeatability.
• Support hardware bring-up and early-stage testing of new RF platforms and feed findings back to design.
• Build the test approach when requirements aren’t fully defined and create repeatable test suites.
• Analyze results and work with engineers to diagnose and resolve performance issues across analogue, mixed-signal and digital domains.
• Produce clear test documentation including plans, procedures and reports.
