Job summary

Filtronic plc is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our RF and microwave product team, taking concepts through to volume production and space-related applications. You will design robust, lightweight assemblies and perform thermal/ structural analysis, collaborating with RF, electronics and manufacturing to deliver high-reliability solutions.

You will develop modular mechanical architectures for payload or system-level integrations, ensure EMI/ shielding, and contribute to design

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in high-rel or RF/microwave environments.
• Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks and GD&T.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design precision mechanical components and assemblies for RF modules and systems.
• Develop modular architectures for payload or system-level integrations.
• Ensure RF, thermal, mechanical and environmental requirements are met.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support manufacturability and cost-reduction activities.
