Job summary

Line Up Aviation in Stevenage is seeking an RF Engineer for a 6-month contract to design, implement and maintain RF equipment supporting real-time simulations. 37 hours per week, on-site four days a week. Hourly rate £65–£75 via Umbrella, inside IR35. BPSS clearance required before starting, with full SC to follow. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams across RF, electronics and software to deliver new capabilities.

Qualifications

• Broad RF engineering skills across design, testing and integration.
• Experience with real-time systems and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with Linux and some C++ development.

Job description

Salary: GBP65 - GBP75 per hour

Our client has an opportunity for aRF Engineerto join them on a contract basis for 6 months with possible extension. You will be designing complex, real-time simulations that surround real hardware.

Role: RF Engineer

Location: Stevenage, 4 days onsite per week

Hours: 37 per week

Hourly Rate: £65-£75 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS required before starting, full SC to follow

What you’ll be doing:

As an HWIL RF engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing and maintaining new and existing RF equipment and working with multi-disciplinary teams to combine RF, electronics engineering and software development to produce new capabilities that enable the HWIL team to run new simulations.

You will be able to adapt to new engineering situations and be comfortable in abstracting detail in order to understand the simulation and missile’s behaviour

What you’ll be doing:

Broad engineering experience with deeper experience in some of the following skill areas:

• Radio Frequency design and testing
• System performance analysis
• Interface debugging and system integration
• System design for real-time applications
• Familiarity with Linux operating system
• Familiarity with computer science (C++ an advantage)
• Integration of microcontrollers into RF hardware (e.g. Raspberry Pi)
