Job summary

Mount Charles Group are recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join our team at HSC Business Services Organisation, Franklin Street, Belfast. You will ensure offices, kitchen and rest areas are cleaned to required standards, following COSHH guidelines and using equipment correctly.

This part-time role is 5 hours per week (Mon–Fri). The position offers a supportive, family-like environment with training, uniform provided, pension, and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail in daily cleaning tasks.
• Customer-focused approach to facilities services.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Basic reading/writing/speaking/listening skills for safety notices.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, kitchen and rest areas to required standards.
• Follow COSHH guidelines and safety procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and report faults.
• Carry out weekly and periodic cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Support a clean and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Knowledge of scrubber dryer operation would be an advantage
• Any and all other cleaning duties

• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
