Job Description:

Happy Energy Solutions Ltd is expanding its team and seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Retrofit Business Development Officer to lead engagement with local authorities and social housing providers. This role is crucial in advancing energy efficiency initiatives and forging strong partnerships to support carbon-saving projects across communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the main contact for local authorities and social housing providers within a designated area
  • Promoting HESL’s offerings, including ECO funding, HEATflex, local HEAT websites, and carbon-saving solutions
  • Advising stakeholders on funding and energy efficiency measures
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with charities, community groups, and housing providers
  • Planning and delivering community engagement events
  • Coordinating project implementation and communication among stakeholders
  • Supporting funding applications and reporting on energy efficiency initiatives
  • Producing reports on outcomes such as carbon and energy savings

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, especially with local authorities or housing providers
  • Understanding of carbon reduction strategies, ECO/HEATflex schemes, and energy funding
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel
  • Experience in community events and programs
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Experience with charities or community groups (desirable)
  • Knowledge of local government frameworks and funding cycles
  • Qualifications in environmental sciences, energy management, or related fields (desirable)

Location: Hybrid, home-based within proximity to London and the South East. Regular travel to meetings in London, the South East, and occasionally further afield as per project needs.
