Southern Hospice Group is seeking an experienced Retail Van Driver to join our Worthing-based team. You will collect donations (notably furniture), move stock between stores, and deliver purchased items to customers, supporting our charitable mission.

The role requires a clean driving licence, good local knowledge, and strong customer communication. It offers full-time hours, pension benefits, and on-site parking at our Worthing site.

Competenze

• GCSE level or equivalent education required.
• Experience in a client/customer contact driving/delivery role.
• Full driving licence with up to 3 penalty points maximum.
• Able to communicate confidently with a wide range of people.
• Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Team player who adapts to change.
• Good local geographic knowledge.
• Role involves safe manual handling of heavy furniture and items.

Mansioni

About the role

We are looking for an experienced van driver to join our team, collecting donations (particularly furniture), transferring stock throughout the retail chain and delivering purchased furniture to customers.

Essential criteria

• Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent or qualified by experience
• Experience of working in a client/ customer contact driving delivery/collection role
• Full driving licence (maximum 3 points)
• Able to communicate confidently with a wide range of people and with sensitivity
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Good communication skills with the ability to receive and give written and verbal instructions clearly
• A team player who responds positively to change
• Good geographical knowledge of the local area and surrounding localities
• This role involves the safe manual handling of heavy and awkward furniture and household items
