Job summary

JDS GROUP LIMITED trading as SPAR – Tickhill Road Maltby is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee the Maltby SPAR convenience store. You will lead the team, manage daily operations, ensure excellent customer service and maintain stock levels, pricing and store standards.

The role requires supervising staff, preparing rotas and driving profitability. Salary ranges £31,500–£33,500 with paid annual leave and a workplace pension, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in retail management or supervisory role.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating daily store operations.
• Experience managing stock, cash handling and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily store operations, ensuring a welcoming shopping experience.
• Lead, supervise and support staff, allocating duties and monitoring performance.
• Prepare staff rotas to maintain suitable cover during trading hours.
• Monitor sales, costs and KPIs to improve profitability.
• Manage stock ordering, deliveries, replenishment and stocktaking.
• Maintain pricing accuracy and merchandising standards.
• Oversee tills, cash handling, banking and daily reconciliation.
• Recruit, induct and train staff in store procedures and customer service.
• Keep accurate operational records and report store performance to directors.
