Job summary

Lodge Security in Londonderry is seeking a dedicated Retail Security Officer on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be the visible face of safety on the shop floor, deter theft, and deliver excellent customer service while protecting staff, premises, and stock.

You will work with store management to maintain a safe environment, complete incident reports accurately, and follow security protocols. A valid SIA licence and a verifiable 5-year history are required; prior retail security experience

• Verifiable 5-year checkable work/education history in the UK is required.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional appearance.

• Apply ASCONE criteria to identify, monitor, and handle shoplifting incidents in line with policies.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting visitors and assisting the public.
• Partner with store management to ensure a safe, secure environment for staff and customers.
• Defuse conflicts calmly and respond promptly to store emergencies.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate operational records.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, highly visible deterrent presence on the shop floor to prevent loss and deter theft.
• Apply ASCONE criteria effectively to identify, monitor, and handle shoplifting incidents in line with retail policies.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting visitors, assisting members of the public, and representing the store professionally.
• Partner closely with store management teams and colleagues to ensure a safe, secure environment for employees and customers.
• Defuse conflict calmly, de-escalating tense situations and responding promptly to store emergencies.
• Follow strict compliance and security protocols, accurately completing incident reports and maintaining complete operational records.

Required Skills & Experience

• A valid, current SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding).
• Proven right to work in the UK alongside a verifiable 5-year checkable work/education history.
• Excellent customer service skills with a smart, professional appearance and approach.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflict management situations effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with solid attention to detail when following procedures and guidelines.

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience in retail security, shop floor guarding, or retail loss prevention.
• Practical familiarity with applying ASCONE principles and managing stock protection techniques.
