Job summary

Lodge Security is recruiting a Retail Security Officer for its Portsmouth on-site team. You will be the visible face of safety, deter theft, assist customers, and work with store management to protect staff, premises and stock.

Requirements include a valid SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding) and the right to work in the UK, plus excellent communication and a professional appearance. Previous retail security experience is a plus. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Valid, current SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding).
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
• Excellent customer service and professional appearance.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage conflicts.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a highly visible deterrent presence on the shop floor to prevent loss and deter theft.
• Apply ASCONE criteria to identify and handle shoplifting incidents per policies.
• Greet visitors, assist customers, and present the store professionally.
• Work closely with store management to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Defuse conflicts calmly and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
