Job summary

Staffline, in partnership with TSS, is seeking a Retail Security Officer in Worthing to provide a visible uniformed deterrent and help safeguard premises and staff. You will observe and report incidents and support loss prevention while keeping the site secure and compliant with Fire and Safety procedures.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service, plus a team-oriented attitude. You must be 18+, tech-savvy for digital admin, and ready for induction and on-site training.

Qualifications

• It is crucial to have great communication and customer service skills.
• A lot of admin is digital and paperless, so you'll need to be tech-savvy enough to use our digital devices.
• Age 18 or over and demonstrate confident communication as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and contribute to safety of premises and staff.
• Carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure safety of staff and visitors.
• Deter potential troublemakers on site in a lawful manner.
• Observe and report incidents using correct reporting systems.
• Perform duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible.
• Keep site knowledge up to date and identify local developments.
• Understand and implement Fire and Safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches when required by the Client.
• Maintain a clean and tidy Security base.
• Always wear full uniform and display SIA licence clearly.

Job description

As a Retail Security Officer your duties include:

- To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff

- To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors

- To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site

- To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems

- To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible

- To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified

- To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures

- To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches

- To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition

- To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
