Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a security officer to maintain site safety and customer service at Minley. You will conduct regular patrols, assist staff and visitors, and support staff with reasonable requests.

You will also complete on-site reports to ensure accurate information is recorded. Training includes mandatory competency courses and renewal of the Door Supervisor SIA licence before expiry, with vigilance for health & safety hazards and incident reporting.

Job description

Use ASCONE to maintain the security of the site

• Conduct regular patrols of the site
• Deliver customer service to both staff and visitors
• Support the staff with any reasonable request
• Ensure the relevant reports are completed in order for accurate information to be recorded

Training

For this role, you will be required to fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training, as well as undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Operations Manager. You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards on site
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage, whilst using common sense and initiative to ensure the situation does not become threatening
• Being both proactive and reactive when delivering customer service to diffuse situations to avoid escalation
• To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers
• Complete an accurate and detailed entry of any incidents that occur on the system provided on site
• To call emergency services and Control Room to report serious incidents

Minimum one years Security experience required

Retail experience preferred, Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence
