Job summary

BardWood is seeking a Retail Security Officer in Hemel Hempstead to patrol a busy retail store, deter theft, and safeguard staff and customers. You will respond to incidents, monitor entrances, and maintain a visible, helpful presence to support a positive shopping environment.

Applicants should hold a Door Supervisor SIA license, have a 5-year checkable work history, and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• SIA DS license is required.
• Five-year checkable work/career history is required.
• Previous security experience is advantageous.
• Applicants must be physically fit and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the Retail Store Premises to deter theft and ensure safety.
• Investigate disturbances and monitor entry/exit points.
• Call for assistance in emergencies and operate theft-detecting devices.
• Engage with customers to provide helpful service and build rapport.
• Follow ASCONE procedures at all times.

About the role

Title – Retail Security Officer

Pay Rate – 13.10

Location – Hemel Hempstead Redbourne Road, Hertfordshire

Shift Timings – Must Be Flexible As Per Clients Requirement

You will be working in a well-known retail store, which holds various stock such as food/drink, clothing and homeware items. As a security officer, your main role is to ensure the safety and security of both staff and visitors alike, by staying vigilant to any suspicious activity, follow ASCONE to ensure shoplifting is kept to a minimum, and deliver customer service to those who visit the store.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft-detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.
• Follow ASCONE

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
