Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Retail Security Officer at Asda in Darlaston. You will ensure a safe shopping environment, deter crime, and deliver excellent customer service while wearing full uniform.

Key duties include patrolling, reporting incidents, and liaising with store management and local authorities. A valid SIA licence and retail security experience are essential; enthusiasm and strong communication are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Deliver industry leading customer service.
• Be clean, tidy and properly dressed in full uniform.
• Deter violence and public order offences.
• Conduct store patrols.
• Utilise CCTV systems to support reduction of crime and stock loss.
• Liaise with store management teams.
• Report incidents and crime through our technology.
• Liaise with Police and crime partnerships to reduce crime in store.
• Wear Body Worn CCTV to support safety.

Retail Security Officer- Asda

Pay rate: £13.10 per hour

Hours: Mornings, evenings and weekends, must be flexible to pick up over time and cover colleagues annual leave. Hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 1800-0015

Location: Asda Darlaston, St Lawrence way

Mitie is looking for Retail security officers who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

Objectives And Responsibilities

• Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the Client's and the Company's Quality Procedures
• To follow the site-specific Risk Assessments ensuring all activities are completed in a safe manner
• Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients
• To create a safe working environment, free from crime and health and safety related issues for colleagues, contractors and customers
• To add a polite greeting and excellent customer service
• Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers

Main Duties

• To deliver industry leading customer service

• To conduct patrols of the store
• Utilising CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss
• Liaise with the store management teams
• To report incidents and crime through our leading technology
• Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store
• To wear Body Worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety

Who are we looking for?

• MUST HOLD A VALID SIA LICENCE
• Must have previous Security Retail Experience
• Experience of delivering Customer Service
• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal
• Adaptable communication style to meet the needs of different people groups
• Ability to work in a fast-moving services business
• Capability in the use of technology
• Good attention to detail
• High level of enthusiasm and passion
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential
