Job summary

Mitie Group plc is seeking an experienced Security Officer Compliance at Cabot Circus Shopping Centre in Bristol. You will perform BOH inspections, ensure compliance with fire safety and health & safety standards, and support on-site security operations to protect people and assets.

The role requires delivering guidance to retailers, documenting inspections, and working with the team to maintain a safe, compliant shopping environment. A valid SIA licence and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
• Experience in BOH operations within retail or commercial environments.
• Good written reporting and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to identify hazards and enforce compliant practices.
• Experience in retail centre security or operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and ad-hoc BOH inspections across loading bays and service corridors.
• Monitor compliance with fire safety, health & safety, waste, and loading bay protocols.
• Record inspections and actions using reporting systems.
• Escalate serious breaches, support enforcement actions.
• Provide guidance to retailers on BOH rules and safety expectations.
• Maintain visible BOH presence to deter theft and unauthorised access.
• Assist with emergency responses including evacuations and alarms.
