Job summary

B&Q Limited, Southampton Store Support Office, is seeking a Retail Network Support & Operational Change Manager to drive the efficiency and resilience of the logistics network across the UK. Based in Southampton with national travel, you will lead the logistics team and own performance across Branston SFC showroom fulfilment and associated budget responsibilities.

Role Purpose: Thriving in a senior leadership role within the Retail Logistics Team, you will champion the development, efficiency and operational resilience of the B&Q Logistics network across tactical, strategic, short-term, medium-term and long-term timeframes, including operational priorities and the longer-term network vision. The role leads network change, capacity, infrastructure, technology and proposition requirements to support evolving customer demand and changing trading propositions. It also has direct operational management responsibility for Branston SFC showroom fulfilment operations, including service, capacity, cost, risk, customer impact and budgetary control. As a strong advocate for Logistics in cross-functional projects, you will ensure smooth change implementation, service continuity and continuous improvement across B&Q, Kingfisher, 3PL and supply chain partners.

What's the job?

• Reporting to the Head of Retail Logistics to lead and empower the wider logistics team, maximising output and ensuring priorities are clear.
• Lead the development, optimisation and future-readiness of the retail logistics network, ensuring capacity, infrastructure and proposition changes are aligned to the B&Q plan.
• Own operational management of Branston SFC showroom fulfilment operations, including daily and period performance, capacity, customer service, safety, risk and service continuity.
• Hold budgetary responsibility for Branston SFC / showroom fulfilment operational performance, leading cost calls, forecast challenge, productivity reviews and savings opportunities.
• Line manage and develop the Home Delivery Analyst, setting direction, delegating effectively, supporting development and holding accountability for SFC / home delivery analysis and actions.
• Champion continuous system and process improvement, actively participating in planning, business case development, IT testing, logistics change management and implementation.
• Use data, KPIs and operational insight to challenge assumptions, manage risk, inform decisions and drive improvements in cost, service, capacity, lead times and network performance.
• Collaborate with 3PLs, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, HR, KITS and the B&Q Board Members, providing regular updates on network performance, risks, opportunities and challenges.
• Partner with Logistics, Transformation and Group Supply Chain & Logistics PMO teams to ensure project alignment and provide subject matter expertise for the logistics function.
• Lead or influence CAPEX, maintenance, infrastructure, fleet / MHE and layout decisions across the retail network and Branston SFC, ensuring spend is commercially justified and operationally robust.

What we need:

• Extensive experience in complex logistics, fulfilment and supply chain environments, including multi-site retail logistics and 3PL operations.
• Strong operational leadership with the ability to balance strategic network thinking with hands‑on management of Branston SFC performance, cost, service and risk.
• Commercially aware, with experience leading budget reviews, productivity challenges, cost‑saving opportunities and investment / CAPEX conversations.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to engage stakeholders across B&Q, Kingfisher, KITS, 3PL partners and senior leadership.
• Confident in constructive challenges, ambiguity management and conflict resolution across internal and external teams.
• Highly analytical, using data, forecasts, KPIs and operational insight to inform decisions and drive service, cost and capacity improvements.
• Demonstrates agility, resilience, and innovative problem‑solving, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, actionable plans.
• Able to coach, develop and hold accountability through line management, delegation and structured follow‑up.

Other Requirements:

• Regular engagement with Branston SFC, retail logistics sites, 3PL partners and cross‑functional stakeholders is required.
• Role requires the ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities and provide clear updates on risks, blockers, decisions and accountabilities.
• Expected to support operational recovery, business continuity activity and major change delivery where service, safety, cost or customer impact is at risk.
