Job summary

TXM Recruit are currently looking for a maintenance operative to work for a leading retail maintenance team on a rolling temp basis covering an engineer on sick leave. Potential for a job to arise for a perm worker down the line.

The starting rate for the Maintenance Operative is £14.01/ph. (PAYE, Paid Weekly). Hours are 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with 1-in-4 weekend shifts and overtime at 1.5x. Location is Stoke on Trent (15mi. North/South).

Qualifications

• General reactive maintenance in store environments.
• Ability to perform light carpentry, plumbing and painting tasks.
• Experience with basic building repairs and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform general reactive maintenance in store areas including toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• Change lightbulbs, replace taps or toilet seats, fix doors, patch plaster, rendering, painting or minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPMs) such as Legionella, Fire Alarm Testing, Sprinkler Testing (training provided).
• Conduct building inspections including roof walks and exterior checks; carry out park and area checks.
• Update tablet daily with issues, H&S notes or emails. Use PDA tablet and company smartphone.
