Certas Energy is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our retail kitchen outlet at St Albans. You will deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of food preparation, cleanliness and food safety.

Join a busy store team with shifts 6-2pm and 2-10pm, within 5 miles of the site. The role requires a customer-focused approach and good food hygiene practices, with real living wage benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Retail or food service experience preferred.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to great service.
• Good awareness of food hygiene, cleanliness and safe practices.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in line with brand standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service and create a positive experience.
• Support food preparation and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Follow food hygiene and HACCP requirements.
• Complete daily and scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Adhere to health & safety, cash handling and stock control policies.
• Support stock management and deliveries, reporting shortages.
• Help contribute to site sales targets.
• Provide fast and efficient service during busy periods.
• Collaborate with the wider retail team.
