Job summary

Dunbia is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to support the Engineering Operations on the Shift 2 Retail Production Department. This role welcomes recently qualified engineers looking to develop within a leading meat processing company.

Hours include Thursday and Friday 6am–6:30pm, Saturday 6am–12:30pm with overtime as needed. You will perform planned maintenance, fault finding, and machinery changes while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineers with electrical and mechanical experience.
• Proven track record in a multi-skilled engineering position.
• recognised engineering qualifications such as 17th Edition.
• Willing to work in a meat processing environment.
• Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
• Flexible hours with overtime when required.
• Overtime as production demands.
• Weekly paid; death in service and nest pension.
• 22.5 days holiday incl 8 bank holidays.
• Good progression opportunities across departments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs in the production departments

• Moving and re-installing of machinery when needed
• Machine change overs and set ups
• Carry out check sheets as required
• Liaising with external contractors when necessary
• Maintaining effective working relationships with key site personnel

• Adhering to Company policies and procedures and Health & Safety legislation

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager – We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to help support the Engineering Operations on our Shift 2 Retail Production Department. We welcome recently qualified candidates starting out in their career who want to develop and progress with the business.

The hours of week will be:

Saturday 6am – 12.30pm (overtime required if production runs on).

• Recognised engineering qualifications e.g. 17 th Edition
• Be comfortable in working a meat processing environment
• Ability to work independently and proactively, using own initiative to solve problems
• Ability to meet deadlines
• A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to do additional hours as and when required to meet business demands
• The ability to weld would be an advantage (although full training will be given)
