Job summary

GSF Car Parts is hiring a Retail Assistant in Worthing to deliver excellent customer service and support face-to-face sales, click and collect orders, and strong customer relationships.

You will contribute to branch targets, assist with promotions, and maintain presentation and cleanliness of the shop floor while upholding the company values. The role involves a 45-hour week across weekdays with some Saturday work in rotation.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service or sales/retail experience in a customer-facing role.
• Target driven and motivated to achieve results.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Positive approach to customer queries and proactive resolutions.
• Confident user of IT and computer systems (MS Office).
• Able to work well with others and maintain attention to detail.
• Knowledge of car parts or automotive industry advantageous but not essential.|Knowledge of MAM, Allicat, MS Office is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers for click and collect and general orders, maximising sales.
• Pick relevant parts from the warehouse to fulfil customer orders.
• Assist the sales team on promotions by answering telephone and electronic queries.
• Fully satisfy customer needs regarding parts orders, returns or queries.
• Check returns for resale, warranty or surcharge.
• Contribute to a positive team performance and meet KPIs.
• Use the E-learning portal to develop product knowledge.
• Keep customer-facing areas clean and tidy.
• Develop relationships with customers and understand their garage needs.
• Promote the company image and maintain professional appearance.

Job description

At GSF Car Parts, the role of a Retail Assistant is all encompassing for our aim to deliver excellent Customer Service. You will play a crucial part of the team; contributing towards achieving branch and individual targets through face to face sales; servicing click and collect orders and developing sound customer relationships. Main duties include:

• Serve trade and retail customers for click and collect and general orders whilst maximising sales where possible.
• Pick relevant parts from the warehouse to fulfil customer orders.
• Assisting the sales team on sales of product promotions by answering telephone queries and dealing with electronic queries as and when needed.
• Fully satisfy customer needs in respect of any part orders, returns, or queries they may have.
• Check customer returns for resale, warranty or surcharge.
• Contribute to a positive team performance whilst working on personal benchmarks to optimise personal performance and work on sales of product promotions.
• Utilise the E-learning portal to develop product knowledge and improve performance.
• Ensure that the customer facing areas of the branch are kept clean and tidy.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers and understand their garage needs.
• Always promote a good image of the company by always representing our values and maintaining a professional appearance.
• Ensure that the customer facing areas of the branch are kept clean and tidy.
• Always working towards the achievement of relevant set KPI's.

Working hours: 45 (average) hours Monday to Friday, including alternate Saturday working.

• Proven customer service or sales/retail experience within a customer facing role.
• Target driven and motivated to achieve results.

• Ability to adopt a positive approach to customer queries, pro-actively seeking resolutions.
• Confident user of IT and computer systems.
• The ability to work well with others.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of car parts or the automotive industry would be advantageous but isn't essential.
• Knowledge of MAM, Allicat, MS Office is desirable.
