Restructuring Opportunities Lawyer – International Law Firm – London

Taylor Root has partnered with a leading international UK law firm seeking to hire a Restructuring Opportunities Lawyer. This is a newly created, non-fee earning role within the firm's Restructuring & Insolvency team in London.

The Firm / Team

The firm is part of the traditional "Magic Circle" and is one of the world's leading full-service law firms. The team advises on complex restructurings involving financial and debt issues, special situations, and insolvencies, representing both creditors and debtors across the capital structure.

The Role

This non-fee earning position involves assisting with business generation by identifying companies likely to undergo financial restructuring. Responsibilities include producing legal and commercial analyses of researched businesses and supporting fee earners in securing restructuring or special situations engagements.

Responsibilities:

• Market Watchlist: Create and manage a list of financially distressed companies.
• Deep Dive Analysis: Research and prepare detailed analyses on potential opportunities.
• Financial Instrument Analysis: Analyze high-yield bonds and leveraged loans to assess covenants and identify transaction opportunities.
• Client Engagement: Attend meetings, calls, and events to discuss market opportunities.
• Pitch Preparation: Develop client-facing and bid support materials with in-house lawyers.
• Opportunity Identification: Monitor market events indicating potential restructuring or special situations.

The Ideal Candidate

You should be a qualified solicitor with at least 4 years PQE, preferably more senior. Experience in Restructuring, leveraged finance, direct lending, or distressed debt investing is desirable.
