Restructuring Opportunities Lawyer – International Law Firm – London

Taylor Root have partnered with a leading international UK law firm who are looking to hire a Restructuring Opportunities Lawyer/ This role is a newly created non-fee earner role that will sit in within the firms R&I team in London.

The Firm / Team

Our client is part of the traditional “Magic Circle” and is one of world’s leading full-service law firms. The team advise on the largest and most complex restructurings covering financial and debt, special situations, and insolvencies. They advise both creditors and debtors at all levels of the capital structure.

The Role

This will be a non-fee earning role assisting with business generation by identifying companies that are likely to become subject to a financial restructure. You will produce legal and commercial analysis on researched businesses and assist fee earners in successfully winning roles (debtor or creditor) on any restructuring or special situations opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Market Watchlist: Create and manage a list of financially distressed companies.
• Deep Dive Analysis: Research, prepare, and pitch detailed analyses on target opportunities.
• Financial Instrument Analysis: Analyze high-yield bonds and leveraged loans to produce covenant analyses and identify LME transaction opportunities.
• Client Engagement: Attend meetings, calls, and events to discuss market opportunities.
• Pitch Preparation:Create client facing and bid supporting materials with in house knowledge lawyers.
• Opportunity Identification: Identify market events that may lead to restructuring or special situations.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 4 years (ideally more senior) PQE. This experience will have been gained in Restructuring and/or leveraged finance/direct lending, or as an in-house lawyer with experience in distressed debt investing.
