London (hybrid) | Senior / Director level | Permanent
Our client is a boutique capital and debt advisory firm working with sponsor-backed and owner-managed businesses across growth funding, refinancing and restructuring situations. The firm operates on a model where a single senior advisor owns each mandate from initial diligence through to execution there is no rotation to junior teams, and no hand-off once a relationship is won.
As part of a planned expansion of the firm's capabilities, they are now looking to appoint a Restructuring Lead to build out and run their restructuring and distressed-debt advisory line. This is a senior, client-facing role for someone who wants to own a practice area rather than execute mandates handed to them by others.
Lead restructuring and distressed-debt mandates end-to-end from initial client engagement and diligence through to structuring, negotiation and execution
Act as the senior point of contact for clients, lenders, sponsors and other stakeholders throughout each transaction
Build financial models, cashflow forecasts and options analyses to support restructuring and refinancing decisions
Originate and develop relationships with lenders, private credit funds, insolvency practitioners and referral partners to build a pipeline of restructuring opportunities
Work alongside the firm's existing advisors on cross-referred mandates spanning growth capital, refinancing and restructuring
Help shape how the firm positions and grows its restructuring offering as it scales
A background in restructuring, turnaround or debt advisory gained at a professional services firm, specialist boutique, bank or private credit fund
Strong technical grounding in cashflow forecasting, covenant analysis, options reviews and lender/stakeholder negotiation
ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification; a corporate finance or insolvency qualification is an advantage but not essential
A demonstrable ability to originate and win business, not just execute mandates that land on your desk
Comfortable operating with real autonomy in a small, senior team this is not a role with a large analyst bench behind you
Experience with sponsor-backed or owner-managed SMEs is helpful, given the firm's client base
A senior, ownership-style role building a new practice line within an established advisory firm
Competitive base salary, negotiable depending on experience, plus a bonus structure linked to origination and fee generation
Direct client and stakeholder exposure from day one, with no rotated-analyst model diluting relationships
Genuine scope to shape strategy and hiring as the restructuring line grows
