Job Description:

We are searching for an experienced Restructuring Advisory Associate - MVL.

Consulting brings together multiple teams across Transactions, Risk & Consulting, ABA, and Outsourcing to provide client-centric solutions for RSM’s current and future clients within the middle market. Our Consulting team plays a major role in driving the firm’s growth, with over 1,700 people delivering almost £200m revenue.

At the heart of Consulting are six solutions offered to clients: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigation services, and restructuring. These solutions create a tailored approach to support clients in achieving strategic goals and empower our staff to make an impact and develop their careers.

Overall job purpose

An exciting opportunity to develop a broad range of commercial skills and experience in advisory and formal Members Voluntary Liquidation (MVL) assignments with the Restructuring National MVL team.

You will assist in delivering orderly wind-downs, corporate reorganizations, and work on MVL appointments across a diverse client portfolio, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities
  1. Complete assignments following the Firm’s procedures and statutory obligations, confirming arrangements with clients, including costs and billing.
  2. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute assignments, potentially managing cases, and providing training and support to junior staff.
  3. Progress MVL cases from start to finish, assist with engagement letters, and complete KPIs for approval.
  4. Input data into internal systems, manage case administration, and ensure timely billing.
  5. Develop skills in MVL processes, communicate effectively with clients, and analyze information received.
  6. Provide practical advice on wind-down scenarios and work on group reorganization projects.
  7. Assist with client onboarding procedures and ensure timely completion of necessary documentation.
  8. Manage project budgets, communicate with stakeholders, and monitor profitability and recoverability of work.
  9. Participate in marketing activities, attend meetings and training, and observe health and safety protocols.
  10. Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
Personal and professional qualities
  • Previous client handling experience.
  • Experience in Restructuring Advisory and/or Insolvency is advantageous; CPI qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and commercial skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Interest in promoting the service line internally and externally.
