Overall job purpose

An exciting opportunity to develop a breadth of commercial skills and experience across advisory and formal members voluntary liquidation assignments with the Restructuring National Members Voluntary Liquidation team.

You will assist in the delivery of orderly wind downs, corporate reorganisation assignments and work on members voluntary liquidation appointments across a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring that clients and other interested parties receive a quality service in all respects.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assignments in accordance with the Firm’s standard procedures and relevant statutory obligations, confirming arrangements with the client, company, or appointer, including likely costs and billing arrangements.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute assignments, potentially managing cases as required, following the Firm’s procedures and statutory and regulatory obligations. Guidance will be provided, but may include:
    • Providing training and support to junior staff within the team.
    • Managing Members Voluntary Liquidation from start to finish.
    • Preparing and seeking approval for engagement letters and documents.
    • Completing KPIs for managerial approval.
    • Ensuring diary lines are completed on time.
    • Inputting data into internal systems like IPS and Virtual Cabinet.
    • Handling case administration, including billing.
    • Members Voluntary Liquidation experience is preferred to develop further skills.
    • Exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Understand client challenges and develop solutions with the Partner/Director and team:
    • Handle pre-appointment matters and advisory work.
    • Attend initial meetings with clients onsite.
    • Communicate with clients to gather information.
    • Analyze and verify information received from clients.
    • Advise clients on wind down scenarios.
    • Collaborate on group reorganization projects with other RSM service lines.
  • Assist with client onboarding and timely completion of CEAP.
  • Complete work within budget, discussing any overruns or significant changes with the assignment partner and client.
  • Liaise with shareholders, directors, and interested parties throughout assignments, maintaining excellent client service.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Monitor profitability and recoverability of work, and bill clients promptly.
  • Participate in marketing activities as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Observe health and safety policies, reporting concerns.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role as requested by management.
Personal and professional qualities
  • Experience in client handling.
  • Experience in Restructuring Advisory and/or Insolvency is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a commercial outlook.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Interest in promoting the service line internally and externally.
