Job summary

Synergy Personnel Ltd is recruiting two experienced Heritage Restorers to join a prestigious heritage building project in Oxford. The role involves sympathetic repairs using traditional materials and techniques to preserve the historic structure.

You will work on masonry, brickwork, and finishes, using lime mortars and plasters, natural stone, timber, and other heritage materials. A CSCS card is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience on heritage, conservation, or listed building projects.
• Knowledge of traditional building methods and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out sympathetic repairs to heritage and historic buildings.
• Making good damaged areas while preserving the original character of the building.
• Repairing and restoring masonry, brickwork and finishes.
• Working with traditional heritage materials (lime mortar, lime plaster, natural stone, brick, sandstone, timber, traditional renders).
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard in accordance with conservation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out sympathetic repairs to heritage and historic buildings
• Making good damaged areas while maintaining the original character of the building
• Repairing and restoring existing masonry, brickwork, and finishes
• Working with traditional heritage materials, including:
  • Lime mortar
  • Lime plaster
  • Natural stone
  • Brickwork
  • Sandstone
  • Timber
  • Traditional renders
  • Heritage repair compounds
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard in accordance with conservation requirements

Requirements
