Job summary

Peterborough Youth Justice Service is recruiting a Youth Justice Officer to work with children who have entered the youth justice system. You will build positive relationships, assess needs, and develop plans balancing child welfare with safeguarding, victims and community safety.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion, professional curiosity and resilience.
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Assess needs, safety and risk.
• Develop and deliver individual intervention plans.
• Help children understand the impact of their behaviour and make positive changes.
• Ensure victims and restorative approaches are considered.
• Prepare reports for courts and panels.
• Work with partner agencies to safeguard children and manage risk.
• Maintain accurate case records.
