Salary: £34258 plus 24% standby uplift

What Will You Be Doing as a Restoration Technician?

As a Restoration Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of water supply to over 6 million customers. You'll be on the front line of planned and emergency response events-deploying innovative equipment and bespoke solutions to ensure the continued delivery of clean, safe drinking water.

Working as part of a regional team, you will be involved in maintaining restoration equipment, responding to supply interruptions, and supporting capital delivery programmes. This is a hands-on, technical role that will see you working across various sites, often in high-pressure scenarios, always putting our customers and water quality first.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively maintain and manage restoration equipment and HGVs to ensure readiness.
  • Deploy restoration plant and equipment to manage interruptions to water supply, both planned and reactive.
  • Support water quality testing during deployments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Lead on-site restoration solutions and provide real-time updates to the Operational Management Centre.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure seamless response to service needs.
  • Contribute technical knowledge to planning and continuous improvement of restoration services.
  • Participate in out-of-hours standby rota to support 24/7 customer service.
  • Champion health & safety practices and contribute to a zero-accident culture.

What Attributes Are Required?

  • Experience with technical operations or restoration/deployment work, ideally in utilities or water services.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and confidence in high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills such as HGV driving, emergency chlorination, and installing linestopping technology.
  • Commitment to customer service, operational excellence, and safety compliance.
