Job summary

Knowsley Council is seeking a Restart Employment Advisor to provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to residents seeking training and employment opportunities. The role collaborates with local employers, partners and council services to align workforce skills with employer needs and support economic growth.

The Restart Programme assists residents referred via a mandated pathway from JCP, focusing on those out of work for six months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Restart Programme from Knowsley Works offices, with face-to-face delivery as required by contractual obligations.
• Maintain high standards of customer care, professionalism and service delivery across all employment programmes.

As a key member of the Knowsley Works Service, the post holder will deliver high-quality information, advice, and guidance to Knowsley residents seeking training and employment opportunities.

The role involves working collaboratively with local employers, partners, and council services to align workforce skills with employer needs, supporting economic growth and improved outcomes for residents.

The Restart Programme will deliver assistance to residents who have been referred via a mandated pathway from JCP.

The Restart programme will help unemployed people who are claiming benefits and will have been out of work for at least 6 months.

The position is central to ensuring excellent customer service and the effective delivery of employment initiatives in line with the Knowsley Works Service Plan. This includes maintaining high standards of customer care, professionalism, and service delivery across all employment programmes.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible:

For the Restart Employment Advisor roles, the post holders will deliver the service from Knowsley Works offices based across the borough as the Restart contractual obligations requires face to face delivery. There is no working from home requirements.
