Job Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group has a unique and exciting opportunity with a leading manufacturer in Bolton to recruit a Welding Engineer/RWC. The role involves overseeing welding inspection activities to ensure quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage welding procedure qualification records (WPQR) for materials prior to welding.
  2. Review metallurgy and organize trial tests with third-party witnesses if the material grade is not qualified.
  3. Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
  4. Coordinate Quality Control (QC) activities.
  5. Ensure personnel are qualified according to welding regulations.
  6. Handle complex non-conformances, such as weld cracks.
  7. Investigate non-conformances and work with NDT and Production Managers to develop solutions.
  8. Maintain welding qualification records.
  9. Authorize Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  10. Review new projects focusing on materials, weld positioning, and type.
  11. Participate in Technical Reviews.
  12. Prepare documentation for traceability and customer-specific requirements.
Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a technical or quality qualification at HNC level, possess an RWC qualification, and have welding inspection experience. A background in quality systems, standards, and a technical or engineering discipline with knowledge of welding, fabrication, or metals is preferred.
