Job description

We are seeking a Respiratory Clinical Physiologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As the Respiratory Clinical Physiologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality respiratory diagnostic services within a small team of two clinical physiologists, ensuring the smooth operation of our growing respiratory department.

In this role, you will work alongside the Lead Physiologist to perform routine and advanced lung function investigations, including basic and multi-channel sleep studies, and initiate and monitor CPAP therapy. You will also contribute to the Oxygen and sleep services.

Hours are Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours and part-time options are available for the right candidate. A 10% Recruitment & Retention Premium Payment is offered.

Main duties of the job
  1. Perform and interpret a range of respiratory investigations, including pulmonary function tests and walking tests.
  2. Perform and interpret sleep investigations, including sleep studies and polygraphy.
  3. Initiate and monitor CPAP treatment for OSA patients according to departmental guidelines.
  4. Contribute to Dorset and Wiltshire Sleep Services, attending peripheral clinics as needed.
  5. Perform specialized investigations such as arterial blood gases and capillary sampling.
  6. Produce accurate results following local and national guidelines, ensuring safety and infection control.
  7. Participate in service development and departmental meetings.
  8. Develop and review protocols and guidelines based on evidence and best practice.
  9. Handle administrative duties, manage stock, and coordinate appointments for inpatient and outpatient needs.
  10. Maintain equipment, ensuring quality assurance, calibration, and infection control.
  11. Maintain records and contribute to audits.
  12. Engage with service users for feedback and service improvement suggestions.

Salary ranges from £37,338 to £44,962 per annum (including a 10% Recruitment & Retention Premium Payment).
