We're a large, integrated Community Respiratory Specialist Service dedicated to providing expert care to patients across West Hertfordshire. We're expanding & looking for passionate clinical professionals - whether you are new to respiratory care or an experienced clinician ready to reach Advanced Practice level.

Main duties of the job

We are a high-performing multidisciplinary respiratory team delivering expert specialist care for conditions including COPD, asthma & bronchiectasis across West Hertfordshire, 7 days a week.

This includes essential services such as: Admission Avoidance & Discharge Schemes: Leading our Hospital at Home & Virtual Hospital services.

Home Oxygen Services: Conducting assessment and review services.

You will be an integral part of our team, delivering specialist respiratory care across a diverse & exciting range of services:

Respiratory Home Visits and Follow-up Clinics

TB Nursing (screening, clinics, home visits)

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (diagnostics, clinics, and CPAP care)

Non-Invasive Ventilation for COPD (clinics and BiPAP care)

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Respiratory Physiotherapy

Education/Qualification
  • Nursing/ Paramedic/ Physio Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Current NMC /HCPC registration
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Experience of working with respiratory patients
  • Experience of working within acute or community setting.
  • With knowledge of relevant of National guidelines in Respiratory
  • Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives.
  • Demonstrates ability to managing change
Skills and Knowledge
  • Good effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise actions.
  • Evidence of expertise in clinical skills
  • Experience of teaching others.
  • A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to learn new skills and develop skills in physical assessment, spirometry, developing self-management action plans, capillary blood gas sampling, Feno.
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care.
