Job summary

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in respiratory medicine to cover ward duties on the Respiratory Ward, provide in-reach to the acute assessment unit, and support the asthma and sleep/NIV services.

The post involves developing the CPET and breathlessness service, seeing new patients in clinic (six per clinic), and sharing workload with consultant colleagues and a supervising SpR. GMC registration is required or expected within six months.

Qualifications

• MRCP(UK) or equivalent qualification required.
• MRCP(Resp) or equivalent qualification required.
• GMC registration with specialist registration or expected within six months.
• Experience supervising junior medical staff and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Ward duty on Respiratory Ward, one week in five.
• Respiratory in-reach to the AAU at Hull Royal Infirmary on a 1:11 rota.
• Support the asthma and sleep/NIV services.
• Develop CPET and breathlessness service.
• See new patients in clinic, six per clinic as standard.
• Share workload with consultant colleagues and an SpR.
