Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a qualified teaching assistant for a specialist resource base attached to a 2-form entry school in Erdington. The ideal candidate has Level 3 TA qualification and experience supporting pupils with SEND, including one-to-one support and potential personal care.

You will join a supportive team of TAs working across Key Stage 1, with a focus on ASD and non-verbal learners, and you should be a team player ready to help where needed.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification required; NVQ/CACHE preferable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis.
• MAKATON knowledge preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for pupils with complex needs (ASD and non-verbal).
• Assist in delivering EYFS/KS1 curriculum within the hub.
• Work as part of a team and assist with personal care when needed.

Job description

A 2 form entry school in Erdington are looking for a qualified teaching assistant to work in a specialist resource base attached to the school.

The children in this hub have complex needs and are predominantly ASD and non verbal. The suitable teaching assistant must be experienced in this field and be prepared to undertake personal care.

The children are across Key Stage 1 age. There are other TA's in the hub who will support. This candidate is required to be a team player and help out where needs be.

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Level 3 + Teaching Assistant Qualification (NVQ / CACHE preferable)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one to one basis
• Experience of MAKATON is preferable but not essential
• Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
• Recent primary school experience within the last 2 years
