Job summary

Aspire People is helping a 2 form entry school in Erdington find a qualified teaching assistant to work in a specialist resource base. The role involves supporting pupils with complex needs, including ASD and nonverbal learners, and undertaking personal care as needed.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3+ TA qualification, SEND experience, and a good grasp of EYFS/KS1. Teamwork is essential, with colleagues supporting across the hub.

Qualifications

• Level 3+ Teaching Assistant qualification; NVQ/CACHE preferable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one to one basis.
• Experience of MAKATON is preferable but not essential.
• Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Recent primary school experience within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex needs in a resource base attached to the school.
• Undertake personal care duties as required.
• Work as part of a team with other TAs to support learning and inclusion.
• Assist across KS1 curriculum within the specialist hub.

Job description

A 2 form entry school in Erdington are looking for a qualified teaching assistant to work in a specialist resource base attached to the school.

The children in this hub have complex needs and are predominantly ASD and non verbal. The suitable teaching assistant must be experienced in this field and be prepared to undertake personal care. The children are across Key Stage 1 age. There are other TA's in the hub who will support. This candidate is required to be a team player and help out where needs be.

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Level 3 + Teaching Assistant Qualification (NVQ / CACHE preferable)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND on a one to one basis
