We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Asset Management Team as a Resort Maintenance Assistant.

Your role

You will join the Resort Team within Asset Management. You will assist in the management of the seafront resort in Lowestoft area and the efficient running of the Beach Office and assets and services provided to customers. The service is responsible for providing facilities that are fit-for-use and well presented for customers.

Day-to-day, the work will include maintaining facilities to agreed standards and identifying maintenance work to the resort assets, carrying out minor repairs where possible. You will need to make and maintain records and document relating to the role (computer-based). You will work as part of a small team and will have key-holding responsibilities, be involved in administration relating to bookings including website system usage and other processes such as in-person electronic payments from customers. You will need to help best present the huts, beach office and associated areas. The work will involve some lone-working, using your initiative while following set response processes.

Please note, the role will include weekend working as part of standard week. The post holder will be required to attend to suit hut bookings and the service need throughout the year with highest demand during main season.

The hours are 18 hours per week (annualised), variable over the year to meet the seasonal demands of the role. Core working times will include working Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Bank holiday working will also apply. The working base will be the Lowestoft beach office.

What you will need

You will be flexible to respond to the demands and requirements of the seasonal services represented by the service area and have excellent communication skills, care, attention to detail and accuracy. You will hold office experience and have awareness of health, safety and welfare, maintenance and repair.
