Sandwell Council’s Place Division is seeking a proactive and organised Resilience Officer to join its Community Safety & Resilience team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, to be based from its Oldbury office. The organisation works to a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
In this key role, you will help ensure the Council is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, major incidents and service disruptions, safeguarding critical services and supporting our communities when they need us most.
Working with Council services, senior leaders and external partners, you will lead the development and testing of emergency planning and business continuity arrangements, provide expert resilience advice, and support compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
