Job summary

Red 5 People seeks a flexible, peripatetic Probation Support role, delivering community reintegration help to individuals leaving custody. You will work across hubs, probation services and prisons in Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth, with driving essential to reach multiple locations.

You'll meet clients one-to-one, addressing housing, healthcare, education, wellbeing, life skills and employment. You may come from roles such as Probation Services Officer, Resettlement Worker, Support

Qualifications

• Experience in probation, resettlement or related social care roles is welcome.
• Strong ability to work across housing, health, education, wellbeing and employment domains.
• Flexible, adaptable approach with willingness to work across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible support across a large team to cover annual leave, sickness, and capacity gaps.
• Meet clients one-to-one and help them reintegrate into the community.
• Assist with housing, healthcare, education, wellbeing, life skills and employment planning.
• Deliver tailored 1:1 sessions and collaborate with probation staff and partner agencies to ensure consistent community support.

This is a peripatetic (floating) role, covering activity hubs, probation services and prisons across Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth. Due to the nature of this role flexibility and Driving is essential.

The purpose of this role is to provide flexible support across a large, established team — covering annual leave, sickness, and periods where services are at capacity. This makes the role ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to gain experience across different settings within the criminal justice system.

You'll support individuals as they transition from custody into the community, working with clients who are approaching release or have recently been released on licence. Your role will be to ensure each individual has a clear, structured plan in place to help them reintegrate successfully.

You'll meet clients one-to-one, supporting them across key areas such as housing, healthcare, education, wellbeing, life skills, and employment. You'll deliver tailored 1:1 sessions and work closely with probation staff and partner agencies to ensure individuals receive consistent support in the community.

You may have previously worked as a Probation Services Officer, Resettlement Worker, Support Worker, Drug & Alcohol Worker, Supported Housing Officer, Careers Advisor, Employment Advisor, or in a similar role.
