Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker for pre-booked waking night shifts in the DE4 area, from 10pm to 7am. You will support children and young people with various needs, ensuring safety, wellbeing and emotional security through the night and while following care plans.

The role requires a compassionate, reliable and resilient professional with safeguarding knowledge who can adapt to weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a children's residential care setting.
• Experience supporting young people with additional needs, challenging behaviours or complex trauma.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to maintain a safe environment.
• A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable young people.
• Flexibility to work waking night shifts between 10pm and 7am, including weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Undertake pre-booked waking night shifts on a flexible, ad hoc basis.
• Support children and young people with a variety of needs, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and emotional security throughout the night while following individual care plans, maintaining accurate records and responding appropriately to any challenges.

The setting focuses on developing independence, choice-making and daily living skills, alongside providing personalised opportunities for meaningful recreational experiences within the home and wider community.

We are looking for an experienced Residential Support Worker to undertake pre-booked waking night shifts on a flexible, ad hoc basis, with shifts available Monday to Sunday from 10pm to 7am. The successful Residential Support Worker will support children and young people with a variety of needs, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and emotional security throughout the night while following individual care plans, maintaining accurate records and responding appropriately to any challenges.

The successful Residential Support Worker will have:

Previous experience working in a children's residential care setting

Experience supporting young people with additional needs, challenging behaviours or complex trauma

A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to maintain a safe environment

A caring, patient and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable young people

Flexibility to work waking night shifts between 10pm and 7am, including weekdays and weekends
