Job summary

MLA Recruitment is seeking a Residential Surveyor to join a modern independent practice focused on quality over quantity. You will conduct Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys for private clients, producing clear reports using advanced reporting tools from a home-based patch within one hour of your base, with a phased diary in the first months.

Ideal candidates hold AssocRICS/MRICS/FRICS and have experience in residential surveys, strong customer service, and a commitment to accuracy.

Qualifications

• AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualification.
• Experience carrying out residential property surveys.
• Commitment to producing accurate, high-quality reports.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach and growth mindset.
• VRS registration would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out predominantly private client Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys with clear, professional reports.
• Use Go Report with bespoke reporting template to streamline administration.
• Maintain a realistic daily workload and a phased diary during the first 3–6 months.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for carrying out predominantly private client Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys, producing clear, professional reports that help clients make informed decisions. Using the latest technology, including Go Report with a bespoke reporting template, you’ll benefit from streamlined administration, allowing you to spend more time doing what you do best.

The role offers:

• A local patch, typically within one hour of home.
• A realistic daily workload
• A phased diary during your first 3–6 months, allowing you to settle into the business with reduced workloads while becoming familiar with systems and processes.
• Home-based working with flexibility and autonomy.

What We’re Looking For

• AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualified.
