Qualifications

• Strong skills in residential building inspection, defect identification, and property condition assessment.
• Experience with RICS standards, residential valuation techniques, and relevant property regulations.
• Proficiency in report writing, clear written communication, and use of surveying software and digital tools.
• Effective client communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings in accessible language.
• Excellent time management, organization, and ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward professional membership is highly desirable.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to transport for travel to properties across the Tyneside area.
• Previous experience in residential surveying or related property/consultancy roles is an advantage.

Role Description

The Residential Surveyor will carry out building surveys, RICS surveys, and residential property valuations, producing clear, accurate, and timely reports for clients. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting properties on-site, assessing condition and defects, collecting measurements and photographic evidence, and applying relevant standards and regulations. The role also involves communicating findings to clients, responding to enquiries, coordinating appointments, and maintaining detailed records. This is a full-time hybrid role, based in the Tyneside area, with a mix of site visits, office-based tasks, and some work from home for report writing and administrative duties.
