Midlands Care Services is seeking a Qualified Residential Support Worker for a Children's Care Home in Burton on Trent. The role focuses on supporting children with learning disabilities, ensuring safety, dignity and well-being, including sleep-in shifts and flexible working arrangements.

You will provide personal care, promote independence, and work closely with families and external agencies to meet care plans while adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in children’s residential care or NVQ Level 3/4 in Children, Young People & Family Practitioner is essential.
• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring safety, dignity and well-being.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene, dressing and feeding as required.
• Support children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence.
• Engage in planning and implementation of care plans, adhere to risk assessments, and attend reviews.
• Work in partnership with other agencies and maintain OFSTED and regulatory standards.

Our successful Residential Support Worker will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

• NVQ Level 3 Children s residential Or NVQ Level 3/4 Children, Young People & Family Practitioner (essential)
• Previous experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight

As a Residential Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

• Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being are maintained at all times
• Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as required
• Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence
• Direct practical interactions with children and young people including play, activities, cooking, personal care, engaging with the wider community, supporting educational and health needs
• General house duties, maintenance & completing health and safety checks
• Budgeting, keyworking, advocacy and behaviour management
• Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements, Children s Homes Regulations and the Quality Care Standards.
• Engage in Planning and implementation of care plans, adhering to individual risk assessments, Report writing and attending reviews as required
• Working in partnership with other agencies

Shift Pattern: 2 days on shift, then 4 days off, however this is flexible based on the requirements of the home

Candidates must have their NVQ Level 3 Children s residential Or NVQ Level 3/4 Children, Young People & Family Practitioner

Up to £30,320 per year (£13.54 per hour plus £60 per sleep)

dependent on undertaking up to 6 sleep s per month, any additional sleeps are paid at £60 per sleep. Sleep's are subject to change each month.
