Job summary

Action for Children is seeking a Residential Support Worker for Stoneside in Glasgow. You will create a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people, supporting daily living, planning, and positive behaviour management.

The role emphasizes resilience, empathy, teamwork and effective communication within a dedicated care team. Full-time hours include day and evening shifts; progression toward a Level 3 Diploma is supported.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a care setting and building positive relationships through trust.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
  • Prepared to complete Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years with full support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
  • Helping young people in all aspects of their daily lives.
  • Having good communication skills and the ability to engage well with both young people, colleagues and other professionals.
