Job summary

Caretech in the Northwest is seeking a Residential Support Worker to care for children in residential settings. You will support daily living, monitor progress, and assist with care plans while building trusting relationships and providing encouragement.

New staff should be comfortable with electronic care recording systems; experience with Clearcare is an advantage. A full UK manual driving licence is required, and sponsorship cannot be offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic care recording systems is preferred.
  • Level 3/4 qualification in Children's Residential Care required or in progress.
  • UK manual driving licence required; sponsorship not offered.

  • Ensure our children receive the highest level of support and encouragement.
  • Provide care with a focus on safety, stability and emotional support.
  • Complete and update care plans regularly and document updates.
  • Be part of a welcoming, homely environment and support light housekeeping.
  • Plan activities and support day trips and creative projects.

£36,759 to £37,677 dep on Lvl 3/4 in Childrens Residential/Workforce. This includes payments for an average of just 8 sleep-ins per month A full UK Manual driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship. New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people's records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role. This is not a stopgap job. The children need to see you are here for them through the bigger picture. Be warm, patient, be a great listener and offer those words of encouragement our young people need to hear. Stay focused on achieving outcomes for our children and take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.

  • Previous experience is preferred or maybe you have cared for a younger friend or family member
  • Ability to work towards a Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care
  • Manual UK driving licence is essential to use company cars
  • Open to ongoing development and learning with support form your manager, your team and the company
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, communication is key
  • Ability to work day shifts with overnight sleep-ins at the service, you will be away from home for a few days at a time
