Job summary

Knowsley Council is inviting applications for a Residential Support Worker at Fullerton Grove to provide high-quality, child-centred care for children with disabilities and additional support needs.

You will work with families and partner agencies to support wellbeing, participation and development through trauma-informed, relationship-based and therapeutic practice. The role covers personal care, moving and handling, medications, and healthcare support, alongside play and activities.

  • Salary: £32,061 to £33,699 per annum (pro rata for part time)

  • Location: 3 Fullerton Grove

  • Contract: Permanent

  • Hours: 30 hours per week. Rostered over 7 days.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Fullerton Grove, our residential short break service for children with disabilities, complex health needs and additional support needs.


As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, child-centred care within a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. You will work alongside families and partner agencies to support children's wellbeing, participation and development through trauma-informed, relationship-based and therapeutic practice.


The role involves supporting children with a range of care needs including personal care, moving and handling, medication administration and healthcare support, alongside promoting play, activities and positive experiences.


We are looking for individuals who:



  • Have experience of supporting children with disabilities and additional needs.

  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with children and families.

  • Understand safeguarding responsibilities and child-centred practice.

  • Are committed to promoting children's rights, dignity and wellbeing.

  • Can work flexibly as part of a rota covering evenings and weekends.
