Job summary

Alderwasley Hall School is seeking a Residential Support Worker to assist students in our residential setting, supporting care activities and leisure during holidays. You will promote independence and help students make choices, while working flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Successful applicants will benefit from paid induction and DBS training, with career progression opportunities and free meals on shift. A driving license is desirable due to the remote location.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our care team as a Residential Support Worker! As a Support Worker, you will be working within the residential setting, you will assist students with a range of care activities in the home and support students' needs during leisure activities and school holiday periods. You will promote the student's independence and choices at every opportunity! All staff must be flexible and willing to work shifts that include some evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. Successful applicants should be:

  • Enthusiastic, patient and understanding.

  • Able to undertake a challenge and provide high standards of care to our young people.
  • Also be able to work well in a team as well as using your own initiative.
  • Experience of working in a similar setting with young children would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full induction and training will be provided.
Desirable Criteria
  • Driving license

Due to the school's remote location - it is recommended that applicants are able to drive and own their own car.
