Residential Sales Associate | NQ+ | Top 50 International Firm | Manchester
Are you a newly qualified solicitor looking to build a residential property specialism with real commercial weight behind it? This is an opportunity to join a highly respected Top 50 international firm in central Manchester, acting for developers, registered providers and local authorities on plot sales across nationwide schemes.
A City led international practice with offices across the UK, the Middle East and Asia, recognised for market leading work across real estate, disputes, education, energy, healthcare, leisure, finance and large-scale projects.
Real estate is a cornerstone of the firm's success and one of its defining strengths. The practice is consistently ranked in the Legal 500, with partners recognised as Hall of Fame and Next Generation lawyers, and it generates a substantial share of firmwide revenue. That puts the team you would be joining at the commercial heart of the business rather than on its periphery.
The culture combines the technical quality of a city firm with a more collaborative and flexible environment. For a junior lawyer who wants international calibre work without extreme billing pressure, it offers a great middle ground.
The Residential Sales team provides a full plot sales service to developers on new build schemes nationwide, covering both leasehold and freehold. Clients span private developers, registered providers and local authorities, and the team acts exclusively on the developer side rather than for individual buyers.
As a newly qualified solicitor you will join an experienced and supportive team, taking on real drafting responsibility from the outset while being properly trained in a technical specialism. You will prepare precedent documentation and sale packs, and draft transfers and leases, including shared ownership leases, for developments ranging from single phase sites to complex schemes combining multiple phases and tenures.
You will work alongside the acquisition team on title documentation and its compatibility with the sales process and draw on specialist colleagues across the firm where schemes call for it, from energy arrangements at development level through to the national litigation teams.
There are also a dedicated team of paralegals and CILEX qualified fee earners administering sales and post-sale transactions, and as you develop, you will take a supporting and supervisory role alongside them. Business development is encouraged early, through client presentations, seminars and written briefings.
