Job summary

Brandon James is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager in Dartford to join a growing residential developer. This hands-on role covers pre-construction through to final account, focusing on budgets, cost control and commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager
• Strong residential development background
• Proven ability to manage budgets, cost reporting and final accounts
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare project budgets, cost plans and forecasts
• Support estimating and pre-construction activities
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers
• Prepare and issue tender packages
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate packages
• Manage subcontractor accounts through the project lifecycle
• Prepare valuations, variations and payment applications
• Monitor project costs against budget
• Produce cost reports and forecasts
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Manage change control throughout the project
• Support cash-flow forecasting
• Agree subcontractor final accounts
• Collaborate with Site and Project Managers to maintain viability
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders
